Dr. Valeria Giunta is a Lecturer in Numerical Analysis of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) at Swansea University's Department of Mathematics, within the School of Mathematics and Computer Science. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling of biological and ecological systems, particularly using reaction-diffusion equations incorporating chemotaxis, cross-diffusion, and non-local advection terms. She investigates mechanisms behind natural aggregation phenomena, with applications to autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis and ecosystem species interactions.
Expertise includes Mathematical Biology, Nonlinear PDEs, Chemotaxis- Reaction-Diffusion Systems, and Pattern Formation. She combines analytical and numerical methods for bifurcation analysis and well-posedness studies.
