Dr. Valeria Forte is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Italian in the Modern Languages department at the University of Dallas. She joined the faculty in 2003 and has been instrumental in developing the Italian program, serving as its Director from 2007-2016. Her teaching spans all levels of Italian language and literature, with specializations in medieval/Renaissance literature, classical influences, and Jewish thought in medieval Italy. Dr. Forte’s research focuses on Dante, Petrarch, Leopardi, and the intersection of Roman-Jerusalem cultural/spiritual dynamics. She also explores effective language pedagogy and Mediterranean archaeology.
