Dr. Valentina Nicole Pescuma is a Research Fellow at the Institute for German Language and Linguistics, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her work focuses on real-time register comprehension in adolescent heritage speakers and the interplay between pragmatic context and morphosyntactic processing.
- Projects: CRC 1412 Subproject C03
- Methods: Eye-tracking, linear mixed-effects models
Research Interests: Her studies examine how formality-register congruence affects sentence processing, particularly in relation to morphosyntactic violations. She investigates the cognitive mechanisms underlying register knowledge and social context integration during language comprehension.
Recent Trends: Analysis of real-time processing in heritage speakers, cross-modal register phenomena, and methodological innovations in uncovering intra-individual linguistic variability. Her work contributes to understanding interference between pragmatic and grammatical constraints.
