Valentina Monsalve is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Design (Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, PUCV). She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Architecture and Design at PUCV, focusing on the relationship between school architecture and educational programs in rural schools across Chile.
Her research includes participation in Fondecyt initiation projects funded by ANID, such as Óscar Andrade's study on the tacit dimension of natural light in architectural practice and Ursula Exss's project on modern school buildings (1940–1980). She has taught courses like Neighborhood Workshop and Urban Polycentrism, House Workshop, and Access to Observation.
Valentina's work spans architectural design, building typology, and lighting design, with contributions to projects like Dramarq and the Teniente Julio Allende School of Peñuelas. She has completed crossings such as Ralún-Atlantis and Punta del Diablo, reflecting the school's itinerant pedagogical traditions.
