Valentina Graci, PhD, is an Assistant Research Professor at Drexel University's School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, while also serving as a researcher at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) and the Neuromotor Performance Laboratory at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She is a member of METACHOP (Math Engineering Technology at CHOP) and has over a decade of experience in biomechanics research focused on human motion analysis and injury prevention.
Her work spans
- age-related falls in adults and children
- automotive safety biomechanics
- neuromotor and musculoskeletal disorders
- visual perception in locomotion
- occupant kinematics during pre-crash maneuvers
- pediatric injury risk assessment
Research trends from her publications highlight automotive safety innovations, pediatric biomechanics, and neuromotor control mechanisms. Dr. Graci has received recognition through her nomination as a CHOP Emerging Innovator (2019) and holds significant grant funding from the Center for Child Injury Prevention Studies and the National Science Foundation. Her interdisciplinary approach combines experimental psychology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation science to develop injury prevention strategies.
