Valentin Jentsch

Valentin Jentsch is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Corporate Law at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) and affiliated with the Department of Business and Tax Law at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance in Munich. His research focuses on corporate and capital market law, private law fundamentals, sustainability reporting, and climate litigation. He teaches courses such as Corporate Law (Aktienrecht) and Corporate Governance, and has published extensively in leading journals like ZHR, Schweizerische Juristen-Zeitung, and Oxford Business Law Blog. His work addresses socio-political issues through legal frameworks, including director liability, ESG disclosure, and corporate governance reforms.

Recent activities include co-authoring the Praxishandbuch Verantwortlichkeitsrecht, editing Leitentscheide im Gesellschafts- und Kapitalmarktrecht, and presenting at conferences like the 12th Law and Economics Conference. He has delivered speeches on topics such as sustainability reporting, climate litigation against fossil fuel companies, and statutory limitations for D&O liability.
