Valentijn Pauwels is an Associate Professor in Civil & Environmental Engineering at Monash University, specializing in hydrology, flood management, and water resource systems. He holds a PhD from Princeton University (1999) and has held academic positions at Ghent University (Belgium) before joining Monash in 2012. His research focuses on integrating remote sensing, machine learning, and hydraulic modeling to address challenges in flood forecasting, water market dynamics, and climate resilience.
