Vafa Ghazavi is a Lecturer in Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Sydney. His research intersects political theory, ethics, and policy design, with specializations in AI governance, transnational corruption, and civic virtue pedagogy.
Recent work examines agency in global responsibility frameworks and strategies for pluralizing change agents in political philosophy. Previously served as Executive Director at the James Martin Institute for Public Policy (2021-2025) and taught political philosophy at Oxford.
Collaborations include ethical AI research with Google DeepMind and language-culture-identity studies with Southeast Asian institutions. Public scholarship appears in The Guardian, Boston Review, and Australian Foreign Affairs.
