Vadym Volosovych

Vadym Volosovych is an Associate Professor of International Finance at the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he contributes to research and teaching in finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Houston (USA, 2006), an MA in Economics from the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Ukraine), and a BSc in International Economics and Law from Dnipropetrovsk State University (Ukraine).

His research focuses on international business, corporate finance, and international finance. Key areas include firm productivity, competitiveness of multinationals, private equity, leveraged buyouts, institutional investor activities, foreign investment, financial integration, economic fluctuations, and the history of globalization. His work combines empirical analysis with policy relevance, often using firm-level data to explore macroeconomic implications.

His recent publications in top journals such as American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics and Journal of International Economics reveal a strong trend in analyzing firm-level data (e.g., from Orbis), productivity gains from foreign investment, financial integration, and global imbalances. These studies frequently involve large-scale datasets and collaborations with leading economists, reflecting a rigorous, data-driven approach to understanding global economic dynamics.

Vadym Volosovych has contributed to policy through his role as Associate Editor of Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine, and他曾 served as a visiting scholar at the National Bank of Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund. He also participated in a European Commission grant project on Key Enabling Technologies (2016–2018) with PwC and Eurostat.

He has advised the Government of Ukraine on macroeconomic, monetary, exchange-rate, and investment policy during his tenure as a research associate at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting in Kyiv. His non-academic experience includes roles in commercial banking and small business development, enriching his applied understanding of corporate valuation and economic policy.

Volosovych has previously held an academic position as Assistant Professor of Economics at Florida Atlantic University (USA). His research is widely recognized, with publications cited in policy sources, news outlets, and academic platforms like Mendeley and SSRN.
