H.U. Uğur Genç is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology, specializing in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence. His work bridges Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Persuasive Design, focusing on ethical/responsible AI systems that influence human decision-making, trust, and behavior.
- Education: Ph.D. in HCI from Koç University (2023), BSc in Industrial Design from METU (2017), and a semester at Politecnico di Torino (2015).
His research investigates how AI-powered agents use linguistic styles and visual priming to shape user empathy and choices, emphasizing ethical design to mitigate manipulation risks. Publications at CHI and DIS highlight his work on conversational agents, synthetic imagery ethics, and generative AI data governance.
Recent collaborations with Siemens (2017–2022) involved designing data visualizations for industrial smart machines. He contributes to ACM SIGCHI as a committee member and advocates for inclusive knowledge production in HCI.
