Dr. Ada Uzondu is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Counseling at Hardin-Simmons University, affiliated with the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts. She joined HSU in 2023, bringing expertise in trauma, health/wellness, and multicultural competency. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College, and dual theological degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary and West Africa Theological Seminary.

Her research focuses on trauma, mental health disorders among children/adolescents and minority groups, supervision, and multicultural competency. She emphasizes Christian values in education and advocates for empowering students through confidence-building and diversity appreciation.
A licensed professional counselor in Texas, Dr. Uzondu volunteers at BeneVie Counseling and Consulting PLLC and founded the Hope and Peace Ministry. She holds leadership roles in multiple counseling organizations, including Past President of the Texas College Counseling Association and Co-Chair of the Equity & Inclusion Committee for the Texas Counseling Association.
