Uzma Mushtaque is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Her work bridges data science research and computing education. Prior to academia, she worked as a Senior Data Scientist at EY, focusing on credit and risk analytics. Her research interests include sequential recommender systems, improving computing education for future workforce needs, and time series forecasting for financial data. She developed the Instantutor peer-to-peer tutoring platform, combining content-based filtering and NLP for student-tutor matching. Her publications span recommendation systems, retail optimization, and consumer choice modeling.
