Usman Al-Amin is a Lecturer in History at the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria, specializing in West African Sufi manuscript traditions. Former doctoral researcher at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures, University of Hamburg.
Research examines 20th-century Ṣūfī scholarship in Nigeria's Borno State, analyzing manuscript production, knowledge transmission, and Arabic-Ajami textual traditions. Current projects document and preserve Nguru Ṣūfī manuscripts.
