Urszula Chrabota

Dr. Urszula Chrabota is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Motor Rehabilitation at the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow. She has been actively contributing to the field since obtaining her doctorate in physical culture sciences in 2019, with her thesis focusing on home rehabilitation for hemodialysis patients. Her professional journey includes positions as a lecturer at the Department of Clinical Forms of Occupational Therapy (2012-2019) and the Department of Physical Medicine and Biological Regeneration (2010-2012).

Dr. Chrabota's research interests span occupational therapy, rehabilitation science, chronic kidney disease management, pediatric occupational therapy, and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has made significant contributions to understanding the impact of rehabilitation on hemodialysis patients' quality of life and blood parameters. Her work also extends to children with disabilities, particularly examining their participation in extracurricular activities and leisure pursuits.

Her 15 most recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on occupational therapy applications across various patient populations, with particular emphasis on chronic kidney disease patients and children with disabilities. The research trends show consistent interdisciplinary collaboration, with studies often bridging occupational therapy, nephrology, and rehabilitation science. Dr. Chrabota actively contributes to academic governance as a member of the Faculty Committee for the Quality of Education since 2016 and the Council of the Department of Motor Rehabilitation since 2020. She also serves as Supervisor of the Occupational Therapy Scientific Club. Her professional engagement extends to leadership roles in professional organizations, including former membership on the Board of the Polish Occupational Therapy Association (2016-2019) and current membership in the National Chamber of Physiotherapists and the Rehabilitation Section of the Polish Society of Nephrology.

Her clinical expertise is complemented by extensive specialized training in areas such as hand therapy, sensory integration, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and various therapeutic approaches including the Veronica Sherborne Developmental Movement Method and Smart Hand Model.
