Ursula Röthlisberger is a Full Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Basic Sciences (SB) and the Institut des Sciences et Ingénierie Chimiques (ISIC). She leads the Lab of Computational Chemistry and Biochemistry (L CBC). Her research focuses on computational chemistry and biochemistry, leveraging methods like molecular dynamics, Monte-Carlo simulations, and electronic structure calculations.
Education: Diploma in Physical Chemistry (University of Bern, 1988), PhD (collaboration with IBM Zurich Research Lab, 1991). Postdoctoral research at IBM, University of Pennsylvania, Max-Planck Institute, and ETH Zurich. Awarded a Swiss National Science Foundation Profil 2 Fellowship (1994).
Teaching includes courses on molecular dynamics, electronic structure methods, and computational chemistry projects. Active in academic governance as a member of the EPFL Committee of Academic Evaluation.
Advising: Supervised numerous PhD students in computational and theoretical chemistry. Research lab (L CBC) develops advanced computational tools for chemical and biochemical problems.
