Uri Hertz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Cognitive Sciences, University of Haifa, Israel, where he leads the Social Decisions Lab. He also serves as a Visiting Scholar in the Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences (MBDS) program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Uri is a cognitive scientist focused on social learning and collective behavior. His research explores how human and AI agents learn from each other, share information, and make decisions collaboratively, leading to the emergence of social norms and structures. He employs single/multiplayer experiments, behavioral measurements, computational models, and neuroimaging in his work.
At MBDS, Uri teaches a course on AI and human behavior. His academic background includes a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and he has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams such as the Crowd Cognition group at University College London and The Human Mind Project, which integrated neuroscience and philosophy.
