Upoma Guha

Upoma Guha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Dentistry. She serves as Course Director for Cariology and ADRS 556-1 Comprehensive Care Clinic. Her research focuses on integrating digital technology into dental education, including the use of AI and software for skill assessment, as well as dental materials innovation and erosion analysis. She holds a BDS from the University of Dhaka (2009), an MS in Operative Dentistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015), and a Clinical Certificate in Operative Dentistry from the same institution.

Her work explores novel teaching methods such as digital comparison tools to enhance student self-assessment, alongside studies on enamel composition using nanotechnology. She has received research funding including the William M. Feagans Endowed Chair grant ($10,000, 2016-2017) for nano-materials research in dental remineralization. Her publications span topics like pandemic-era faculty calibration, dental composite nanoparticle analysis, and beverage-induced erosion.
