Unn Kristin Hansen Haukvik is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Oslo and head of the Forensic Psychiatry Research Group at NORMENT. She is affiliated with the Centre for Forensic Research and Education at Oslo University Hospital. Her roles include teaching clinical psychiatry and forensic psychiatry to medical students, supervising postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, and master’s students, and hosting the podcast Psykopoden.
Education: MD from the University of Oslo (2004), PhD in Psychiatry (2011), and a bachelor's degree in literature, social anthropology, and development studies (2001). She held an Associate Professor position at UiO (2014–2022) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of California San Diego.
Research focuses on neuroimaging of brain morphology in psychosis, neurobiological underpinnings of violence and antisocial behavior, and intersections of law and neuroscience. Key projects include studying brain age prediction in psychosis, genetic influences on brain structure, and violence risk assessment in forensic settings.
Publications emphasize neuroimaging studies, genetic associations with brain morphology, and forensic psychiatric topics. Notable collaborations include the ENIGMA Consortium for large-scale neuroimaging meta-analyses.
