Ulrike Werban

Dr. Ulrike Werban is a Scientist and Head of WG2 'Geophysics' in the Department of Monitoring & Exploration Technologies at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany. She holds a Dr. nat. Sci. in Geophysics from Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (2006). Her research focuses on geophysical methods applied to soil, groundwater, and biodiversity, particularly integrating geophysical techniques with direct push-driven technologies. She coordinates the research platform MOSAIC and leads projects like MOMENT and MoDEV. Her work emphasizes environmental exploration, managed aquifer recharge, and geoarchaeology.
