Dr. Ulrike Krause is a Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Political Science, University of Münster, where her work focuses on the constitution and politics of gender relations. She concurrently holds an affiliated research associate position at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford. Prior to her current roles, she held positions at Münster University of Applied Sciences, University of Osnabrück, Ruhr University Bochum, and Philipps University of Marburg, and has extensive experience in international cooperation with organizations including DED, UNICEF, GIZ, and World Vision.
Her research explores critical societal issues through interdisciplinary lenses, concentrating on gender dynamics, forced displacement, conflict analysis, structural violence, and humanitarian systems. She maintains a specialized focus on power asymmetries manifested through inequality, epistemology of knowledge production (including strategic ignorance), decolonial frameworks, and ethical dimensions of social science research. Her geographical expertise centers on African contexts within broader global humanitarian and conflict trends.
