Udo Zur Stadt

Udo Zur Stadt is a Research Fellow in the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on pediatric hematologic malignancies, immunodeficiencies, and molecular mechanisms underlying leukemias and lymphomas. He has contributed to international studies such as NHL-BFM and CoALL, investigating genetic drivers of cancers, minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring, and therapeutic strategies for pediatric cancers.

Key areas of expertise include genomic analysis of leukemias, molecular diagnostics, and immune dysregulation disorders like hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). His work bridges clinical oncology with translational research, emphasizing patient-specific approaches in treatment and diagnosis. He collaborates with institutions globally, contributing to large-scale studies on pediatric cancer genetics and treatment outcomes.

Dr. Zur Stadt’s research also explores kinase pathway aberrations, fusion genes in lymphomas, and the molecular basis of familial immunodeficiencies. He is actively involved in developing diagnostic protocols for primary immunodeficiencies and refining clinical trial methodologies for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
