Prof. Dr. Udo Schnelle is a Professor of New Testament at the Faculty of Theology, Institute for Biblical Studies, Seminar for New Testament at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. He has held this position since 1992.
Education:
- Studied theology at Göttingen University (1974-1979).
- Doctorate in theology from Göttingen (1981).
- Habilitation in theology from Göttingen (1985).
His research focuses on New Testament theology, biblical hermeneutics, and Pauline theology, particularly the theology of the cross. He has delivered lectures on topics such as the nature of the New Testament as divine or human text, Paul's cross theology, and the tension between academic claims and realities in biblical studies.
