Tyler Giles is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Wellesley College. His research focuses on public economics, particularly the intersection of public finance and criminal justice policy, where he examines how government interventions influence risky behaviors and recidivism.

Research Interests
Tyler's work investigates the economic impacts of criminal justice policies, such as the effects of criminal fines/fees and driver's license suspensions on government revenue, recidivism, and individual financial health. Teaching
He teaches foundational quantitative courses: Introduction to Probability and Statistical Methods (ECON 103) and Econometrics (ECON 203), alongside a field course in Public Economics. His pedagogy emphasizes intuitive understanding of statistical methods and their application to real-world policy analysis.
