Tyler Fox is a Lecturer in the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) at the University of Washington, part of the College of Engineering. He holds a PhD from Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts and Technology, an MFA in Intermedia from the Elam School of Fine Arts (University of Auckland), and bachelor’s degrees in Art History and Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington.
His research explores how nonhuman relations influence human experience and relationships with the environment. He integrates critical theory into practice-based research through interdisciplinary projects, emphasizing student-centered learning. Fox previously taught at the University of Washington Bothell, serving as a lecturer in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences and Studio Director of the Interactive Media Design program. He is also affiliated with DPrime Research, a nonprofit arts and science organization.
