Dr. Tyler DesRoches is an Associate Professor (part-time) at Arizona State University's School of Sustainability, with a joint appointment in the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia and serves as Deputy Director of Student Success. His affiliations include the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty.
His research explores sustainability, human well-being, and the philosophy of economics/social science, emphasizing climate ethics, decision theory, and behavioral interventions for environmental challenges. Recent work investigates moral obligations in climate leadership and ethical permissibility of 'green nudges'.
Publications (2019-2025) predominantly address sustainability transformations, climate risk frameworks, and interdisciplinary methodologies. Key themes include precautionary principles in environmental policy, social tipping dynamics in mitigation, and reframing climate action narratives.
