Turhan Carroll, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Workforce Education at the University of Georgia. His research focuses on engineering education and STEM education, particularly in teacher preparation through informal STEM pathways, supporting pre-college Black males in engineering, and learning outcomes in elementary and informal STEM settings.
Dr. Carroll holds a PhD in Engineering Education from The Ohio State University, with a specialization in Quantitative Research Evaluation and Methodology. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the College of Education and Human Ecology at Ohio State and previously worked as a researcher at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton, OH.
His work emphasizes equity in STEM education and the development of alternative teacher training pathways. He is affiliated with the University of Georgia’s educational development initiatives, including EETI programs aimed at improving learning environments and formative evaluations.
