Dr. Tung Hoang is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Medical School, affiliated with the Save Sight Institute at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and General Ophthalmology, with a strong emphasis on epidemiological and evidence-based methodologies. He collaborates internationally, notably with the Hawaiian Eye Foundation and Orbis International, to advance ophthalmic education and community eye care in Vietnam.
His research interests include innovative glaucoma monitoring techniques, vascular anomalies in ophthalmology, and diabetic retinopathy screening programs. Recent work explores telemedicine applications for glaucoma management in developing regions and the pathophysiological mechanisms of optic nerve disorders.
Dr. Hoang has published extensively on topics such as carotid-cavernous fistula complications, pediatric oculomotor nerve palsies, and myopic retinopathy epidemiology in Vietnam. His collaborative projects aim to bridge clinical practice and public health initiatives in under-resourced settings.
He is involved in the Master of International Ophthalmology program between Hanoi Medical University and the University of Sydney, fostering global academic partnerships. His work emphasizes cross-cultural healthcare solutions and evidence-driven medical training.
