Tuncay KARAÇAY

Dr. Tuncay KARAÇAY is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gazi University, since 2000. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Gazi University (2006) and served as a Visiting Researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University's Center for Precision Forming. His research focuses on mechanical vibrations, rotor dynamics, additive manufacturing of bearings, and polymer hybrid bearing systems. He teaches courses on mechanisms, dynamics of machinery, and advanced vibration analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Research interests include the dynamic behavior of bearings, vibration analysis, and the application of additive manufacturing in mechanical systems. Recent studies emphasize hybrid polymer bearings' durability under varying conditions and the integration of 3D printing in bearing design.

Publications highlight advancements in aerostatic bearings, vibration monitoring, and pandemic-era educational challenges. He has supervised 28 theses and contributed to academic-industrial projects. His research addresses both theoretical and experimental aspects of mechanical systems, with applications in aerospace, automotive, and structural engineering.
