Tuan Hoang

Prof Tuan D. Hoang is a Professor at the School of Electrical and Data Engineering, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He holds a Diploma (Hon.) and PhD in Applied Mathematics from Odessa State University, Ukraine. His career includes roles as Assistant Professor at Nagoya University (1994–1999), Associate Professor at Toyota Technological Institute (1999–2003), and academic positions at UNSW (2003–2011) before joining UTS in 2011. His research focuses on optimization, control systems, signal processing, wireless communication, and bioinformatics.

Key research areas include robust adaptive controls, nonlinear controls, MIMO/OFDM communication systems, bioinformatics (gene profiling, biosignal processing), and information theory. He has led grants on topics like next-generation interconnected systems, DC optimization in communication networks, and nonlinear filtering.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on Control Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, and Wireless Communication. Supervision includes projects on precoding design for communication systems and optimization methods for power systems.
