Dr. Matthias Tschöp is a Professor in the Division of Metabolic Diseases at the Technical University of Munich and serves as Chief Executive Officer and Scientific Director at Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen, Germany. Additionally, he holds an Adjunct Professor position at Yale University since 2012.

Dr. Tschöp's research focuses on the discovery and development of precision therapeutics for metabolic diseases, with a strong emphasis on translational approaches in diabetes, obesity, and metabolism. In recent years, Dr. Tschöp has received numerous scientific awards, including the prestigious Ernst Jung Prize for Medicine (2021), Berthold Medal (2020), and the ERC Advanced Grant (2016).
