Tristan Czarnecki-Verner

Tristan Czarnecki-Verner is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of English. He earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Florida in 2022, alongside a B.A. and TESL Certificate from the same institution in 2015. His work bridges phonetics, phonology, and language acquisition within Slavic linguistics.

His research focuses on Phonetics and Phonology of consonant sequences, Slavic Linguistics (Polish, Lemko, Ukrainian), Neurolinguistics of Speech Processing, and Second and Third Language Acquisition. He has extensive teaching experience in Practical English, Articulatory Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax, and Language Development.

Tristan has held roles such as English Instructor in Poznań, Poland (2012-2015), Speech Coach at the University of Florida (2015), and Teaching Assistant for Sounds of Human Language (2017-2020). He also served as Guest Lecturer in Phonology at the University of Florida (2019) and Linguistics Educator at the Otis Hawkings Center for Academic Excellence (2021-2022).
