Trista L. Grieder serves as a Lecturer in Kent State University's School of Fashion (College of the Arts), teaching merchandising and design courses for over nine years including Intro to Technology, Fashion Technology Applications, Product Development, and Contemporary Designers. Her industry background spans Wrangler, Dillard’s, and Augusta Sportswear.
Educational credentials include:
- B.A. in Costume Design from Kent State University
- M.S. in Higher Education-Online Learning from Kaplan University
- Currently pursuing MFA in Costume Technology at Kent State University
Her research integrates technology and ancestral heritage, exemplified by the Charlotte’s Treasures collection using her grandmother’s embroidered textiles. She explores sustainable collaborative production methods, emphasizing ethical manufacturing and traditional craftsmanship preservation in contemporary fashion contexts.
Publications reveal consistent focus on sustainable production models, bridging theoretical frameworks with real-world industry applications through collaborative design processes.
With extensive exhibition experience at Cleveland Fashion Week, Great Lakes Fashion Week, and the upcoming Kent State University Museum juried faculty exhibition Fashion Meets the Body, she maintains strong industry-academia connections through prior internship coordination roles at Hendrix College and UNC Greensboro.
