Tricia J. Gray

Tricia J. Gray is an Associate Professor and Department Chair at the University of Louisville's College of Arts & Sciences. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Miami University (2000), an MA from Miami University (1994), and a BA from the University of Louisville (1993). Her research focuses on Latin American Politics, Gender and Politics, and Technology and Politics, with notable projects on gender quotas, South-South foreign policy, and digital divides in Latin America.

Gray has received prestigious awards, including the UofL A&S Teaching Innovation Award (2020) and the KY United Nations Association's Educational Leadership Award (2018). Her work has been supported by grants such as the Research and Creative Activity Grant ($2000, 2016) and the Women and Gender Studies Research Grant ($500, 2016).

Her teaching spans Comparative Political Systems, International Organizations, and Women in Developing Countries. Her publications explore themes like LGBTQ+ rights, digital efficacy in Latin America, and the efficacy of gender quotas in Brazil and Peru.

Gray’s research bridges global governance, technology impacts, and gender dynamics, with a regional focus on Latin America. Her articles in journals like International Feminist Journal of Politics and Journal of Global South Studies highlight her interdisciplinary approach to political challenges in the Global South.
