Dr. Triana Amen is a Lecturer in Advanced Cell Biology at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on cellular stress responses, peroxisome biogenesis, and lipid metabolism. She leads projects investigating molecular mechanisms of organelle dynamics and their role in diseases like Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorders. Dr. Amen accepts PhD students and currently supervises four doctoral candidates.
Her research interests span stress granules, lipid trafficking, and organelle interactions. Notable publications include breakthroughs in live-cell imaging techniques for peroxisomes and discoveries about stress granule-mitochondrial crosstalk. Awards include a 2021 HFSP Fellowship and 2024 Best Paper Award.
