معرفی
Trey Williams is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Clemson University, where he also earned his B.S. in Chemistry (2015) with a Music minor. He holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Wake Forest University (2019), focusing on microwave-induced plasma atomic emission spectrometry under Professors Bradley Jones and George Donati. Previously, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Davidson College. His expertise spans advanced spectroscopic techniques, plasma diagnostics, and analytical method development.
Education:
- B.S., Chemistry, Clemson University, 2015
- Ph.D., Chemistry, Wake Forest University, 2019
Research Interests: His work emphasizes innovation in atomic spectrometry, particularly microwave-induced plasma systems and multi-flow calibration methodologies. He explores applications of plasma diagnostics and signal correction techniques to enhance analytical precision and reduce spectral interferences. His research bridges fundamental plasma physics with practical analytical challenges in environmental and materials science.
Awards:
- American Institute of Chemists Outstanding Graduate Student Award (2019)
- GlaxoSmithKline Assistantship (2015–2016)
- Merck Index Award (2015)
Teaching & Engagement: Teaches foundational chemistry courses (CH 1010, CH 1020) and advanced analytical methods (CH 3130). Maintains a dual artistic-professional life as an organist and carillonneur, serving as Organist at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
