Trevor Larkan is a Lecturer in the Finance Department at Bentley University. He earned his M.S. from Bentley University and his B.Comm Hons, B.Comm, and Dip. Acc. from Natal University. He rejoined the Bentley Finance faculty in 2011 after a brief return to corporate roles, including serving as VP and CFO for Sappi in the USA, Europe, and South Africa from 1988 to 2001.
His research focuses on the challenges of financing development projects in emerging regions, foreign exchange exposure management, and the philosophy of personal financial planning. He has led initiatives such as the CFP Board Registered Financial Planning Concentration Program at Bentley, approved in 2019, and has served on the MSF Policy Committee.
As a certified public accountant (MA) and former Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, he brings extensive corporate finance and treasury experience to his academic role. His consulting practice centers on financial management, corporate finance strategy, and personal financial planning.
