معرفی
Trevor Ireland is a Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Queensland's School of the Environment. His research spans geochronology, isotope geochemistry, and cosmochemistry, specializing in microanalysis of geological and extraterrestrial samples using focused ion beam methodologies. He leads analytical work on asteroid samples from JAXA Hayabusa2 and NASA Osiris REx missions.
His key research areas include formation mechanisms of chondrites, nucleosynthetic isotope anomalies in carbonaceous asteroids, and development of SIMS techniques for U-Pb and δ¹⁸O analysis. He has established SHRIMP analytical facilities at UQ and previously led similar initiatives at ANU.
His career includes positions at Max-Planck-Institut, UCLA, and Stanford. He contributes to understanding early Solar System processes through analysis of Ryugu and Bennu asteroid materials, with publications in Nature, Science Advances, and Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta.
