Tracy Wilcox

Associate Professor Tracy Wilcox is a recognized higher education leader at UNSW Business School with a distinguished career in business ethics and socially responsible management practice. Her research integrates ethics, organization theory, and human resource management to understand how managers create opportunities for ethical agency in challenging contexts. Wilcox has published extensively in international journals on human resource management ethics, moral agency, virtue ethics, and sustainability education.

Dr Wilcox holds a B AppSc (Hons) from UTS, MCom (Hons) from UNSW, and PhD from UNSW. Her educational background has informed her innovative approach to curriculum design, program development, and student experience, with a focus on developing business leaders who are capable, responsible, and ethical.

Wilcox's research interests span business ethics, ethical leadership, human resource management, sustainability education, corporate social responsibility, and virtue ethics. She has pioneered approaches to educating for responsible business professionalism, bringing together theoretical sophistication with practical application. Her work examines how organizations can create environments where ethical decision-making becomes embedded in everyday practice, particularly in contexts of domestic violence, risk culture in finance, and work/life balance.

Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on the intersection of ethics and organizational practice, with particular attention to domestic violence in organizational contexts, virtue ethics in financial institutions, and leadership for social purpose. Her scholarly work demonstrates a consistent commitment to understanding how theoretical frameworks can be applied to address pressing social issues through organizational change.

Wilcox has been invited to present at numerous industry forums including BT Financial Group, Self Managed Superannuation Fund Association, and the International Actuarial Association. She formerly served as Section Editor for HRM & HRD Ethics with the Journal of Business Ethics and currently holds the role of Developmental Editor with this journal.
