Tracy Morris serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Seattle University School of Law since 2019, alongside her role as Founder and Executive Director of the Federal Civil Rights Legal Clinic under the Western District of Washington's Federal Bar Association. She holds a JD from the University of Washington School of Law (1995) and a BA in Art History from Occidental College (1991), with additional studies in Spain. Her expertise spans Employment Law and Federal Civil Rights, with a focus on court administration, access to justice, and pro se litigation challenges.
Prior roles include General Counsel at CB Transportation, In-House Counsel at Microsoft, and employment attorney at Perkins Coie. She has held significant judicial clerkships and has served on numerous boards, including the Ninth Circuit’s Public Information Committee and Swedish Hospital Foundation. Morris is actively involved in legal education, mentoring, and community outreach, delivering keynotes and workshops on civil rights, legal ethics, and workplace discrimination.
Her publications include contributions to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Newsletter and the Federal Bail and Detention Handbook, alongside speaking engagements on topics like FOIA compliance and balancing court efficiency with access to justice. She chairs the U.S. District Court Essay and Video Contest and remains engaged in fundraising and historical preservation efforts through the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society.
