Dr Tracy Helliwell is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at the University of Bristol. She holds degrees including a BSc, PGCE, MEd, and PhD. Her research focuses on mathematics teacher education, with an emphasis on climate justice, curriculum innovation, and sustainable futures. Her work employs enactivist theory and narrative inquiry to explore teacher development, decision-making, and pedagogical practices.
Key research interests include mathematics teacher educator identity, critical events in teaching, and the intersection of socio-ecological issues with educational practices. She has contributed to international discussions on teacher preparation, particularly in secondary mathematics education, and advocates for curricula addressing global challenges like climate change.
Her publications span methodological innovations in education research, including combining enactivism with linguistic analysis, and examining interpersonal dynamics in teacher education lectures.
