Tracey Brown is a Researcher at the School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia, where she holds a PhD focused on preventing cancer disparities through electronic signposting. She currently serves as a Postgraduate Researcher (2024–present) and previously held roles including Senior Research Associate at UEA (2012–2024) and Senior Research Associate at the Elsie Bertram Diabetes Centre (2008–2010). Her academic background includes a BSc (Hons.) Biology from the University of Nottingham (1998), an MMedSci in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield (1999), and Registered Nutritionist certification (2002).
Her research interests emphasize lifestyle change to optimize health and well-being, with expertise in consumer food choices, dietary change, diabetes management, smoking relapse prevention, and systematic reviews. Key projects include the BabyBreathe Trial (funded by NIHR) to prevent postpartum smoking relapse and the OptiMine project (Cancer Research UK) optimizing electronic health record mining for cancer prevention.
Tracey has contributed to over 37 research outputs, including studies on neonatal smoking cessation interventions, pandemic health behavior adaptation, and fluid intake effects on pneumonia mortality in older adults. She collaborates across disciplines to advance UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being (SDG 3).
