Dr. Toupey Luft is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge, Canada. A Registered Psychologist with 16 years of clinical experience, her research focuses on marginalized populations, systemic oppression, and the role of empathy/compassion in therapeutic and supervisory alliances.
- Education: Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary
Her program 'Healthy Relationships Within Systems' examines:
- Wellness and resilience among mental health professionals
- Intersectionality and identity dynamics in marginalized clients
- Compassion satisfaction in clinical supervision
- Migrant mental health challenges
- Intuition in humanistic counselling practice
Recent publications address newcomer mental health assessment tools, rural/urban adolescent relationships, and addiction counselling frameworks. She received a National Doctoral Fellowship (SSHRC, 2002) and will become a Teaching Fellow in 2024.
