Toshiya Ueta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Denver. His research focuses on observational and computational astrophysics, particularly studying planetary nebulae (PNe), evolved stars, and their circumstellar environments. He investigates mass-loss processes in asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars, dusty disk structures, and high-speed outflows using multi-wavelength observations (radio to UV). Dr. Ueta has contributed to major surveys including the Herschel Planetary Nebula Survey (HerPlaNS), Herschel MESS program, and the AKARI mission's MLHES project. His work emphasizes plasma diagnostics, dust dynamics, and photoionization modeling.

Advancing Techniques: He develops novel methods for processing far-infrared data (e.g., AKARI, Herschel) and employs integral field spectroscopy (MUSE, KOOLS-IFU) to map 3D structures of nebulae. His team also refines plasma analysis practices for accurate emission line modeling.
