Toshio Kodama

Professor Toshio Kodama is affiliated with the Department of Bacteriology at the Institute of Tropical Medicine (NEKKEN), Nagasaki University, Japan. He also serves as a Guest Professor at Osaka University.

• Academic Career: Assistant Professor (2002), Lecturer (2014), Associate Professor (2015), and Professor (2020 onwards).

His research focuses on the pathogenesis of enteric bacterial pathogens, particularly Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio cholerae, and Salmonella enterica spp., with fieldwork conducted in Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Recent studies include serotype emergence, transcriptomic regulation, and genomic analysis of virulence factors in aquatic environments.
