Professor Torsten Keller has served as a full-time Professor for Corporate Accounting and General Business Administration Theory at Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA) since 2005, affiliated with the Department of Finance & Accounting. His academic journey began with a 1994 dissertation at Universität Hamburg on incentive systems for information provision.
His research concentrates on corporate accounting challenges, particularly external financial reporting during HGB-to-IFRS transitions for SMEs and innovative financing models for small and medium enterprises. Teaching responsibilities encompass Fundamentals of Business Administration Theory, Bookkeeping, Investment, Funding, Cost Accounting, Controlling, and Planning frameworks.
Scholarly output shows an evolution from foundational work in business information systems toward contemporary SME accounting solutions. Current investigations address regulatory adaptation complexities and capital structuring for smaller enterprises within evolving financial landscapes.
Prior to academia, Professor Keller accumulated over a decade of executive experience as an SME managing director, complemented by advisory roles in controlling and academic leadership directing business administration programs at a private university.
