Torrie Gilden

Dr. Torrie Gilden is an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Colorado Christian University (CCU), serving in the School of Counseling within the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. She joined CCU as a full-time online faculty member in June 2021, after serving as an online affiliate faculty since 2020.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, Walden University
• M.S. in Applied Psychology with Emphasis in Mental Health Counseling, Eastern Washington University
• B.A. in Psychology, Central Washington University

Dr. Gilden's professional focus lies in mental health and addiction counseling, with over a decade of clinical experience since 2012. She integrates trauma-informed approaches and evidence-based practices such as EMDR and Motivational Interviewing in her work. Her expertise spans co-occurring disorders, clinical supervision, and suicide prevention. She is deeply committed to the professional development of emerging counselors and provides licensure supervision in her private practice.

Her professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), reflecting her dedication to both clinical excellence and faith-based integration in counseling.

Dr. Gilden is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in Washington State, and an Approved Supervisor for LMHC and SUDP licensure. She also serves as a trainer in Motivational Interviewing and consults with community organizations on mental health initiatives.
