Torhild Nordtveit is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Law, University of Bergen. She specializes in property law, bankruptcy law, and methodological approaches to legal theory. Her research explores the interplay between law and society, with a focus on bankruptcy rules and their implications for emerging industries like hydrogen energy. She is affiliated with the HyValue project, investigating regulatory frameworks for hydrogen value chains in alignment with EU and Norwegian green energy strategies.
Her doctoral thesis examined debtor change, emphasizing methodological rigor in understanding legal obligations and debtor-creditor dynamics. Nordtveit is also part of research groups for climate law, property law, and legal culture. She supervises master's students in property law, including topics related to hydrogen projects and contractual assumptions. Recent publications include a monograph on debtor change (2023) and a chapter on Norwegian savings bank evolution.
