Prof. Dr. Torben Ellerbrok is an Assistant Professor of Public Law at the Free University of Berlin, Department of Law. His research focuses on Administrative Law, European Law, Fundamental Rights, Environmental Law, and Sustainability Law. He leads the Ellerbrok research group, which organizes interdisciplinary events like the 2025 symposium on environmental and sustainability principles. He actively contributes to legal education through an e-learning course on European Law (UniReps program) and supervises doctoral theses in his core research areas. Recent work includes analyses of EU legislative dynamics and the constitutional role of trainee lawyers.
Research Interests: Prof. Ellerbrok’s expertise spans administrative law frameworks, EU legal systems, fundamental rights interpretation, and sustainability governance. His 2025 publications address environmental legal principles and EU institutional challenges. He also explores historical legal developments, such as post-war legal education reforms at Heidelberg University.
