Tora Lane is Associate Professor and Research Leader at the Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES), Södertörn University. Her research explores Russian literature and cultural theory through European philosophical frameworks, focusing on aesthetic dimensions of community, revolution, and memory. Current projects examine traces of historical oblivion in post-Soviet literature and early Soviet film aesthetics.
Lane's scholarly contributions include the award-winning dissertation on Marina Tsvetaeva's poetics (2009) and the monograph 'Andrei Platonov: The Forgotten Dream of the Revolution' (2018), analyzing utopian visions in Soviet literature. Her teaching encompasses aesthetics, Russian literature, and memory studies, with emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches to cultural analysis.
