Tor Sverre Lande is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Informatics within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on biomedical engineering, analog/mixed-signal circuits, UWB radar technology, and low-power electronics. He has held visiting professorships at Imperial College London and collaborated with institutions globally.
His research spans biomedical signal processing, microwave systems, and radar technology applied to healthcare and environmental monitoring. Notable contributions include innovations in UWB radar for non-invasive physiological monitoring and snowpack analysis, as well as advancements in ISFET arrays for DNA detection. Lande is an IEEE Fellow and a member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences.
